Welcome to Hero Vision!
Sure, this may look like a lot of reading but it will spare you the confusion later, promise! Wink

A Little About Our Community

Welcome Welcome Welcome! Hero Vision is a friendly, informal and unique community for otakus, roleplayers, sparrers, GFXers, artists, writers, debaters, and just about any other well known interest we could think of! Don't forget!...Please review our forum rules before posting!

On Hero Vision we believe strongly that an online community should be an enjoyable experience for the individual. This means that we try and cater for EVERY kind of user. Our forums of discussion are VERY varied, as we try to cover every popular interest and style of posting on the boards. What we also strongly believe in is that all members are equal, and that no one is superior to anyone else. For instance, the board owner should have no extra unnecessary privileges than a new member! We also believe that a board is best run when everyone gets on and is friendly to one another; for this reason, any form of flaming and abusing others is strictly banned. You can report abuse >>HERE<<  Please make sure to read the forum and section rules before posting, as some of them tend to vary.

Forum Terminology:

Thread – this is a subject that is posted. You can reply and make your own threads by choosing “new topic”.

PM – this stands for private message. It's much like email.

Spam – the term we use when a thread goes off topic or if a thread is made with no clear subject other than chatting. Spam is not permitted in most areas on the forum.

Trolling – this term is for people that deliberately try to cause trouble and harm on a forum in a multitude of ways.

Baiting – baiting is when you try to sucker/set up someone to flame you. Baiting is absolutely not tolerated and will get you banned.

Flaming – this is where you say something negative in at attempt to cause a more negative response from one or more people. This isn't to be confused with debating as debating should never be taken past the point of topic. Flaming occurs when a comment is made as a personal insult. Flaming will lead to an instant ban.

Flooding – flooding is exactly as the word suggests. Anytime someone posts multiple threads without reasonable content within an hour in the same section it is flooding. It moves other topics down the page making them difficult to see and respond to. Flooding the board will get your topics locked and deleted. Flooding can be ban-able depending on the content and offence.

Scheme – this is a program created for assistants and staff to participate in. They are duties and events all over the board to keep Hero Vision functioning and fresh at all times.

GFX – this refers to graphics and graphic design.

Cosplay- Originally the Japanese short term for “costume play”. Cosplay is where you dress up like an anime, manga, movie, or video game character. Some anime conventions hold special cosplay competitions.

Etiquette:

-Please keep in mind that we are a community; It's important to respect your forum members at all times.

-It's common courtesy to type as legible as possible, short hand is often difficult to read and understand and may cause other members to become frustrated.

-Please keep personal disputes off the boards. Flaming and baiting is not tolerated. If you have something you need to workout please do it via PM or IM. If it's forum related and you can't solve it, please consult a member of staff.

-Please try to stay on topic. Spam is permitted only in certain areas such as Nonsense. Spamming where it is not allowed can result in a thread being locked, your posted deleted, and in some cases you banned.

-If threads are more than a few days old and buried behind pages of newer threads, please do not bump them.

-Double posting is not permitted in most sections. Please review each sections rules to see where it is and isn't allowed.

-We cater to all types of interests and people of all age ranges. Remember that we are a PG-13 site. Posting of any material above a PG-13 rating will have severe consequences. If you prefer to discuss adult topics, we have an Adult Discussion section for just that reason.
