Okay, so this one takes place in Germany. I don't think many people on here will make it out there but I thought I'd post this anyways. There's not much information on it and I'll have to get my friend to translate most of it but here's what I've got so far.CONNICHI '08Once again we welcome you to the Connichi in the Congress Palais Kassel. From 12th to 14th of September of 2008 you are in invitd to the largest Anime and Manga Convention organized of fans, taking place for the 7th time. Look forward to hree days filled with fun and surprises in Kassel, the most central city in Germany.
The largest non-profit Anime and Manga association Animexx e.V. presents you a large variety of program: Cosplay contests, music acts and dance groups, dealer areas, video presentation, lectures and discussions, workshops, several contests and much, much more. In addition multiple guests of honor from the Anime scene will meet and greet you.
RegistrationAgain we offer three booking phases to advance order for the Connichi 2008. For this purpose 2005 on Saint Nicholas Day during the Animexx Advent Calendar a competition took place to find names for our three new early booking phases; these were used now again.
Thanks to good experience in 2006 and 2007 we maintain our intensified terms of payment. Every booking person has six weeks to pay their tickets, otherwise the reservation expires and the tickets will be on market again.
Because of the always still rising number of booking persons from noneuropean countries we this year again offer paypal as additional means of payment for booking persons not from Germany. With this no high credit transfer fee stands out. Old and good things like our parents-ticket and the children-ticket for visitors under 9 years will be sold again on the Connichi 2008.
# The Connichi 2008 provides three phases of pre-order:
1. "Fuyu-kan" early booking rebate: order start - 15th of January 2008
2. "Haru-kan" early booking rebate: 16th of January 2008 - 31st of March 2008
3. "Natsu-kan" standard rate: 1st of April 2008 - 15th of August 2008
After 15th of August 2008 neither online order nor reservation is possible. Tickets will be available with a little surcharge at our box office.
# We will sell tickets at our box office at each day.
# Every visitor is able to use the Kassel local traffic for free within the validity of his ticket.
# Paid tickets will be sent in time to the given address to obtain this service.
# Tickets paid and booked after the date of sending can be picked up by showing the printed email of credit transfer confirmation at the box office.
# The application is binding with the incoming of the total amount on the Animexx e.V. account. The reservation expires, if the total amount is not transferred within six weeks onto the Animexx e.V. account; the date of credit entry counts.
# Paid but not sent tickets can be cancelled until including 15th of August 2008; the handling fee is 10%. Credit transfer after the given six weeks and its repayment includes a handling fee of 15% which will be retained.
# This year repayments will only given on following dates:
In each case at the end of February 2008, the end of April 2008, the end of June 2008 and the end of August 2008.
Special repayments are given only after consultation and with very good reason.
# We offer paypal as alternative payment for noneuropean visitors (
paypal@connichi.de). This lowers the credit transfer fees to 2.- Euro which we add as lump sum to the total amount.
# All Connichi visitor tickets are transferable, except the parents-ticket.
# Your questions about the tickets mail to
ticket@connichi.de(All given prices contain 19% VAT.)

LocationThe Connichi 2008 will take place at the Kongress Palais Kassel again.
Kassel is located in the very heart of Germany and can be reached easily by public transportation from all directions. A table of journey times by train from several large German cities to the Intercity Express (ICE) station Kassel-Wilhelmshoehe can be found in the box to the right (all data without guarantee). The ICE station and the main station are each less than a kilometer away from the Kongress Palais Kassel.
By the way: Kassel is and the location of the yearly international art exhibition Documenta. And as past Connichis have shown, in Kassel people are generally very "tolerant" towards unusual things...

AMV ContestOur Anime Music Video Contest takes place for the 7th time. We returned to the classic way of two contests: One for exclusive content and another one for entries already released throughout the year. Please take a look at all of our AMV-related program this year.
elcome to the 7th issue of our AMV-Contest.
AMV means Anime Music Video, a short video made of anime scenes. Created by fans for fans.
The rules were not changed this year, we only cut off the Contest to a given song due to a lack of responses. In case of questions arising write a mail to
amv-contest@connichi.de or click amv-contest.animedownload.de to see last year's FAQ (It will be updated but right now, but the old version does its job). You will also find the latest info there.
The deadline expires on July 23th 2008, afterwards only registered latecomers get 14 days of extra time.
For more info regarding these points please read the rules.
This year, there are the good old two ways to enter the contest. The first one is the traditional way: a contest with videos which were not shown anywhere before, the exclusive contest. The second contest is almost equal to the first but free for all, so you may enter any video you made this year.
Due to last years' experience the videos are to be shown depending on the overall quality and quantity: The very best ones will be presented by a host in the great hall of the convention center on Saturday and a selection of the videos not shown before later. If there are enough videos worth watching we will create a third session on Sunday. But there is no guaranty we will show every video sent to us. Note: Explicitly specify the context in which your video is supposed to be presented!
