I think that it is a great step up for perceived security, but when it comes to actually stopping problems, I don't see them only putting a few on sometimes helping at all. Though people will be happy because they FEEL more protected, and I suppose that is what counts. Because as we have determined earlier in the topic that a confident person is less likely to be the target, people who feel more secure will be more confident.
Summary: Basically, I don't see the fact that police are riding trains as helping cut down on attacks, but rather I see it as boosting confidence, and that confidence will help stop the attacks. The police are just for show, the confidence of the people will be what really matters.
That is my opinion, anyway, and I suppose we shall see how it all plays out.

If I had to choose, I would not choose at all. If I could choose, I choose freedom.

Hmm... I'm glad that I carry around a pocket knife all the time. I agree that Marlborough C-Train Station isn't safe because my friend got attacked midday by a bunch of people. Thank god security showed up or we would've had to have stepped in. Apparently, I was the next one to get attacked once they were done with her. >< Stupid flippin' people these days. Always looking for someone weaker than them to pick on.
