The Rules, Plain and Simple
« on: January 11, 2008, 05:09:30 PM »

Purpose
General Discussion is HV's casual discussion/debate section. Anyone is welcomed to start up or join in a conversation about life, politics, and current stories in the news. The section is also a place for debates about various things. The expectation is that everyone will be mature and respectful when they post in GD.

The Rules
  • 1. Coherency of Post: Basically, as Mani put it, "Exercise correct and intelligible spelling and grammar to the best of your abilities."
  • 2. Don't bump topics passed the second page.
  • 3. You can't start a new topic for a topic that is already being discussed already on the first two pages.
  • 4. Don't spam in any topics made in GD.

Things to keep in mind when posting in GD
Any post that is a flame/bait/spam post will be deleted by a GD Moderator
If you happen to see any of the rules being broken within a thread PM a GD Moderator; refrain from making a complaint publically, as they often hijack the thread and put a stop to the discussion. The GD Moderators will handle things.
If you have a complaint about a decision made by a GD Moderator PM the GD Moderator talk to them about it first, if you want to take it further go to the Head Moderator or Community Admin.

In Regards to GD Debates
GD is a discussion/debating forum which means from time to time serious debates will arise. Heated debates about religion, sexuality, war, and politics; are all common in GD. Don't let this discourage you from posting in them, instead it should encourage you to share your opinions and take part in the discussions.
